Bishop Smith from Canada was their catechist today. They were in the church St Francisco de Goya.The group is holding up well. It is now 5:45 pm and they are heading back to their hotel. They are excited for the arrival of the Pope tomorrow and his welcoming ceremony. They are aware of the protests planed for tonight and tomorrow and they know to stay away from those areas.

ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you. Thomas Merton, our great Catholic poet once said we are drawn to the Catholic Church by "the beauty, the solemnity, the dignity of the worship." After seeing the welcoming Mass last night I was again reminded of Merton's wisdom in describing the mystery of our faith. God bless. Be safe and be open. Tom
